Thank you CFB Alert! A big thanks to the Canadian Armed Forces for making our show and extended stay at Alert base, Nunavut (800 kms from the North Pole!) an experience of a lifetime. The hard work and dedication these men and women bring to serve Canada is truly inspiring. We played music every evening while we were snowed in at Alert, enjoyed great times and made a lot of new friends. Many thanks to Commanding Officer, Major Denis Letellier, Master Warrant Officer R R.J. Dumelie , Petty Officer Second Class, Louise Nadeau and Lieutenant Colonel Joel Roy, and all at CFB Alert for their hospitality on land and in the air! Also a big shout out to our hosts Show Tours, Brian Slack, Nancy Labelle and Gary Quatros along with my stellar band and co-headliners Steve Strongman, Paul Deslaurier, Dawn Tyler Watson and Chuck Byrn. We will post pics of the Arctic adventure soon. ![]() |

Oct 1, 2009 Jack de Keyzer The Corktown Sessions Live (blue star records) Corktown sessions Sample MP3 Blue Star records is pleased to release Jack de Keyzer: the Corktown Sessions. The Corktown sessions capture Jack de Keyzer (lead vocals, guitar) and his stellar band David McMorrow (organ, piano) Alan Duffy (bass) and Danny Lockwood (drums) live in concert. The CD was multi-track recorded by Hamiltonian, Al Cannon, on a warm spring evening (May 1, 2009) in Hamilton, Ontario, in the raucous and historic, environs of the Corktown Pub. Alternately soaring, swinging, and shuffling through a dozen blues and r&b classics, five covers and seven de Keyzer originals the disc captures the blues guitarist at the top of his game in front of a very vocal and enthusuastic hometown crowd. The informality of a nightclub setting allowed the band to stretch out, yet still burn intensely through the varied repertoire, highlights of which are Robert Johnson's When You Got a Good Friend, Stevie Wonder's Signed Sealed, Delivered and de Keyzer's , Engine Trouble and The Way That I Love You. The conversational aspect evident between the players, with de Keyzer's vocals, the icing on top, results in a highly entertaining recording and excellent example of small group, ensemble playing. The Corktown Sessions is a must have CD for fans of blues and guitar. Order Corktown On Line through our secure indiepool server www.indiepool.com/CD2505 |

| Jack de Keyzer:
Its a brand new CD Thing.... Press Release December 5, 2006 Jack de Keyzer is currently mixing tracks for his first all new original CD since 2002's Juno Award winner, 6 String Lover. (Silver Blues (blue star 2504) released last year, is a live album of previously released material.) The new CD, (working title: Its A Blues Thing) takes off where 6 String Lover left off. The 14 tunes showcase de Keyzers expanding artistry in song writing, guitar playing and singing to best advantage. The song writing encompasses classic blues (Music is the Food of Love, Its A Blues Thing) , jazz (Merciless Beauty, Thats How Much I Love You), soul, (Cry the Blues), funk (Bills) , r&b (If I Had Your Love) , and latin (Good Life) all bathed in the honesty and soul of the blues. The guitar playing shows off de Keyzers influences more than ever, with tips of the hat to personal guitar heros, BB King , Eric Capton, Albert King, Kenny Burrell ,Grant Green and Jimi Hendrix. As a vocalist de Keyzer wraps his warm, easy going & perfectly pitched vocal cords around smooth urban blues, jazz and gritty soul. By turns, earthy, sophisticated, playful, deep, swinging and funky, Its A Blues Thing is sure to appeal to fans around the world. Strong song writing, masterful perfomances, well constructed arrangements and pristine recording (by Eric Abrahams) all come together to make Its A Blues Thing an exceptional work. Produced by de Keyzer and Alan Duffy, the CD is set for a summer 2007 release date. Musicians: |
