Jack de Keyzer The Corktown Sessions Live (blue star records)
Corktown sessions Sample MP3

Blue Star records is pleased to release Jack de Keyzer: the Corktown Sessions. The Corktown sessions capture Jack de Keyzer (lead vocals, guitar) and his stellar band David McMorrow (organ, piano) Alan Duffy (bass) and Danny Lockwood (drums) live in concert. The CD was multi-track recorded by Hamiltonian, Al Cannon, on a warm spring evening (May 1, 2009) in Hamilton, Ontario, in the raucous and historic, environs of the Corktown Pub. Alternately soaring, swinging, and   shuffling through a dozen blues and r&b classics, five covers and seven de Keyzer originals the disc captures the blues guitarist   at the top of his game in front of a very vocal and enthusuastic hometown crowd. The informality of a nightclub setting allowed the band to stretch out, yet still burn intensely through the varied repertoire, highlights of which are Robert Johnson's When You Got a Good Friend, Stevie Wonder's Signed Sealed, Delivered and de Keyzer's , Engine Trouble and The Way That I Love You. The conversational aspect evident between the players, with de Keyzer's  vocals, the icing on top, results in  a highly entertaining recording  and excellent example of  small group, ensemble playing.  The Corktown Sessions is a must have CD for fans of blues and guitar.
